PlateSmart, Leading Provider of LPR Solutions and Analytics, Wins Govies 2015 Platinum Award
Award firmly establishes game-changing Hi-Def LPR engine as best of breed.
In an announcement this past week by Security Products magazine, it was confirmed that PlateSmart has been granted a Platinum designation for its 2015 Govies Award for Video Analytics. This is the maximum designation available for the highly coveted Govies, which PlateSmart received this year for its High-Definition License Plate Recognition (HD LPR) engine. A game-changing achievement in video analytics technology, the HD LPR engine enables the extraction of multiple license plates from a single camera’s video stream with a wide field of view.
The award continues to affirm PlateSmart’s position as leader of the pack in the security technology industry. In 2014, the Company received its first Platinum Govies for ARES, its complete end-to-end enterprise video analytics solution for physical security based on LPR. The previous year, ARES was recognized as a revolutionary technological breakthrough by Frost & Sullivan, which awarded the software-only solution a Best Practices award. ARES has been so widely honored largely due to its ability to integrate with any VMS solution and provide value added data never before available to any VMS system, as well as to send mission-critical alerts to any VMS in real time for complete situational awareness. This year’s Govies winner, PlateSmart’s HD LPR engine, set a new precedent at the recent ISC West show in Las Vegas, where the technology was demonstrated for enthusiastic spectators.
Webb Wang, PlateSmart CTO, says that the HD LPR engine will be available in many different forms in addition to becoming a standard feature in PlateSmart’s existing product line. “We are also offering it as an SDK (Software Development Kit) to empower rapid LPR-enabled business application development. Additionally, we have recently launched a new OEM initiative to embed our industry-leading LPR technology into cameras, NVRs and other edge devices,” he said. “Combined with our current turnkey product offerings for both fixed and mobile cameras as well as our soon-to-be launched multi-tenanted cloud based SaaS offering, PlateSmart is well positioned to be a one-stop shop for all of your LPR needs.”
PlateSmart’s reputation as the proven innovator in LPR has paid big dividends, leading to integration partnerships with some of the biggest names in the industry. Among these are such notable companies as Samsung Techwin, Pelco by Schneider Electric, Dahua Technology, and Messoa.
PlateSmart CEO John Chigos said, “We are exceptionally gratified to be recognized by the industry for our efforts with major awards like this one. It spurs us on to continue to be the provider of cutting edge LPR solutions and analytics.”
